I talked about い i-adjectives on this post. → い i-adjectives list and how to use them
Now you know how to use i-adjectives in casual, formal way, past tense and negative form.
It would be nice if you can explain more detail about it.
i-adjectives + noun
おおきい(big) + いえ (house) = おおきいいえ big house
かわいい(cute) + いぬ (dog) = かわいいいぬ cute dog
やすい(cheap) + ふく (clothes) =やすいふく cheap clothes
こわい(scary) + えいが (movie) = こわいえいが scary movie
あたらしい(new) + ほん (book) = あたらしいほん new book

★You can simply add です at the end to make a sentence.
おおきいいえです It is a big house.
かわいいいぬです It is a cute dog.

It is easy, isn't it?

I-adjectives also function as predicates to a sentence. It gives a property to the subject.
noun は adjective です
(noun is adjective)
The は between noun and adjective is called a particle.
When you use は as a particle, we pronounce it as WA, not HA.
We use the particles to build Japanese sentences and there are multiple uses.
It will make your head hurts if I explained all the particles and their uses at once,
so we are going to learn one at a time.
What I would like you to remember today is
A particle は marks the topic of the sentence.
The topic can be anything you want to talk about.
Let's make a sentence.
The noun is the house which is the topic and the adjective is big,
so it's gonna be
いえ は おおきいです The house is big.
You probably remember that adding です at the end makes a formal sentence from the last post.
So when you want to say it casually, just take off です.
いえ は おおきい The house is big. (Informal)
えいがはこわいです The movie is scary.
ほんはあたらしいです The book is new.
くるまはあかいです The car is red.
Now, please try to make sentences by yourself.
1. たかい expensive, シャツ shirt
- It is an expensive shirt.
